Climbing

Climbing is the sport of scaling an obstacle, be it a rock face, a favourite terrain where climbing has developed in all its forms, an artificial surface or any urban structure. The route taken during a climb is called a climbing route, as opposed to a via ferrata, which is an equipped route suitable for the first approach to mountaineering difficulties. Those who practise climbing are called climbers, rock climbers or even mountaineers.
